Review Yale HSA Range

Wireless Alarm 6400 from YaleRating Stars awarded to companies of Wireless Alarms

Summary: A good range of wireless burglar alarms that are very easy to install. They provide a visual deterrent and piece of mind for home owners. The suggested uses for the range are:

HSA6200

      - Suitable for small properties (flats, terraced houses and small semis) and for locations where no mains electricity is available i.e. boats, caravans etc

HSA6300

      - Suitable for the family home

HSA 6400

      - Suitable as a “monitored” system which utilises your land line telephone.

Pros:  A reputable brand with excellent backup.  It is our view that Yale are possibly one of the only suppliers of bduget wireless burglar alarms that include “Pet Friendly” PIRs i.e. you if you have a pet you can still set the alarm in an area downstairs when you you go to bed confident in the fact that a pet (up to 20kg in weight) is unlikely to set it off.  Other brands please take note.   You can buy pet friendly PIRs for all Yale systems here, or  look for the Yale hsa 6400 communicating wirefree alarm kit here.

Cons: No GSM version available.  Doesn’t have solar panel charging for siren.  Uses the 433 MHz operating system (the 868 MHz frequency is used by Freidland).

Features we like:

  • All Yale models have a battery powered siren and flashing LED.  Provides a deterrent to would-be burglars and an audible warning when the alarm is activated.
  • HSA6400 has an additional dummy alarm box for positioning at the rear of a property for advertising more thoroughly that an alarm system is in operation.

Features we disliked:

  • No panic button included with any model although we understand these are available separately.
  • No remote control included with any model although we understand these are available separately.

Summary

The The Yale HSA range of wireless alarms are good but with the lower specification operating frequency of 433 MHz and the lack of some features that can be found in those of their competitors we have only awarded it three stars.  Nevertheless, the Yale HSA range is still good value for money and is well worth considering for your property.
